Not that is was a secret anyway... ...expect to keep chrisgixer guessing :P
As yet, it remains unamed, as I haven't acquired much affection for it yet :-X. So for now, I guess, it will follow on from Projects TB1 and TB2, and simply be Project TB3 for now.
As most have now gathered, I now own a 2003 Elite. Bought with FSH, and all the problems that presents ;D
So far,
Rear springs replaced
Driver's CDL replaced
Oil replaced (with assistance from MDTM, after previous idiot had done the filter up to 10,000Nm)
To do,
Fuel filter (looks original)
Air Filter (not checked)
Pollen Filter (rank)
WIM
Consider suspension upgrades
Consider LPG
Fit a CID (depending on MDTM's success with my balls-up ::))
Fit a Nokia BT kit
See what options we can find to help it keep up with my beloved MV6 ;)
-
just shows what dealer servicing can do its only got a 3rd of the millage of your MV6
-
Oh, another thing
I MDTM has done is pumped the tyres up. That reduced some of the wallowy feel :-[ ;D

18 psi on one rear!
I checked one of the displays, found some dodgy soldering around the main surface mount ribbon socket.....easily repaired with a steady hand, microscope, pro soldering iron and a heat pencil.
I will maybe fit it later and test the results
-
Aah I see now ;D I thought you had acquired an MV6 and were showing your appreciation of it (I love my MV6 thread) :D
Being in a darker part of the Kingdom it takes a while to catch up to what's happening in civilisation.
Anyway I hope you get the 3.2 sorted and grow to love it every bit as much as the MV6. :y
-
If the LPG does get done I'll help out (shifts allowing) if you need another pair of hands :y

The only dodgy soldering I did was on the middle boards. You can't miss it :-[.
The panel in bubble wrap was a good one iirc, the two that were loose (or in the plastic housing), one is good (iirc), other is H21's old one so intermittent (iirc)

The one I looked at was the loose one....I guess that could be H21's old one

Mine needed an increasing amount of skelps on the dash panel as it grew older to reset itself prior to its replacement so, probaby, yes.... ;D

Forgetting that the prefacelift is a nicer looking car than facelift, and the interior doesn't fall apart with every fart, the MV6 is quicker, and does corners ;)

So sell the crappy facelift to me for a tenner :)

Your licence wouldn't stand a car capable of breaking a 50mph speed limit :P

Mv6 pre facelift is not lowered sports chassis, although I know yours is.
Don't think the 3.0 quicker thing has been proven has it?
It's only the tactile finish, and the centre arm rest doesn't bubble up or the surround by the door lever get scratched, 80's blobby styling, nah. ;D
-
Screen is working ok....

Hmmm, that I'm not sure... ...mine sat lower than most when I first bought it.
That said, my tractor Elite sat quite low as well...

yep. keeps the wipers from poking me in the eye. ;D
its had dodgy pixel dince i've had it, but no problems so far.

If it was H21's screen, it was quite intermittent - would run for days fine, then play up for days.
On one of my previous screens, long since binned, I proved the fault to the actual LCD panel or ribbon - ie, swapped over that bottom board and white plastic surround, as in just the glass part and its ribbon to the pcb...

Prefacelift MV6 are lowered on shocks, not springs.
AFAIK, my front shocks aren't facelift.

Afaict there is no listing for lsc on pre fl.
Mark chose fl lsc shocks to go with your 30 mill lower springs, because as you say, pfl mv6 springs are same length as stock, as I understood it? :-/
Correction, was not just springs but shocks as well, fitted the whole assembly as a unit.
Just checked tc and they now list lsc for 2.5/2.6/3.0/3.2.
They updating it by the looks, as shown with the black p no's, old no's shown in white. :-/
