Title: plenum polishing
Post by: unlucky mark mv6 on 07 August 2010, 17:49:07
Really fancy the idea of doing this, but how do you all do it,and what with.Take it you rub it down first to a fairly flat surface, and then polish.I do have a 2 speed makita mop if that helps at all,and i believe you use autosol. :-/

You need to remove the 'stipples' from the Plenum.  I'd do this with a detail sander, or DA.  Start with a 600grit paper, then finish with a 1200grit.

Then you can get on with polishing.

Will be a time consuming, very boring job.

There was quite a detailed thread of how to do it 12/18 months ago.  :ppled bloody good when done.

Thing is you cant wet sand by machine, unless you know of an ingenious way of doing so. ;)
