Have you tried undoing the bleed nipple then trying to push it back?

Vectra 'c' will need winding back in, Vectra 'b', should just push in.
What year is the car in question?

Just to add winding back the piston on a Vectra 'c' is a pig to do without a wind back tool (but possible).

I do have a 'proper' caliper rewind tool but rarely use it... I find it's much quicker just to use "The Best Tool In The Box", a.k.a.  waterpump pliers. Just take care not to pinch the rubber dust cover.

Cheers guys,
Turned out with a bit of jiggleing and turning the piston finally went back then i could put it back all the way with a g clamp.
