i would try confused.com i managed to save £200 on my last renewal....
-
When I renewed mine early this year I got the best deal from Adrian Flux
http://www.adrianflux.co.uk/car-insurance
:)
-
Local broker quoted £414 all-in for Comprehensive policy with AXA - plus a £150 voluntary excess.
Got a much-enhanced policy here for £361 all-in!

Mine has gone up exactly the same amount!
I'm with Swift, now although it is more it is still a lot cheaper than anywhere else so i'm just accepting the 11 quid >:(
-
I'm with www.swiftcover.com, haven't got to renew till January but they looked after me. May be worth a try.....

According to the rep from Sky insurance on the other forum I frequent, the underwriters have - pretty much across the board - massively jacked up premiums this year..
Not looking forward to that, come renewal time!
-
It's happening to everyone. Mine went up by £1000 with direct line. I shopped around and ended up taking my partner off the policy and still ended up paying £200 more a year but was way cheaper than direct robbing line!
-
I moved to CSIS, google them, my premium came in at around £250 with no extra for instalments.
-
Guess I will stick with Direct Line then if everyone is finding that their policies are going up :)

i put a thread up a week or so back, many companies are blaiming an increas of claims due to adverse weather beginning of the year
but i didnt crash, why should mine increase?
-
with More Than my policy last year was £350, renewal this year was £520...i'm still awaiting settlement of a
minor accident i had in april!
so i wouldn't recommend them. At All.
I would recommend checking out the cashback available on your cheapest quotes from websites like quidco and topcashback.
as for a company I've gone with Aviva (Norwich Union)
This year the policy came in at £375 and i got £42.50 cashback through quidco on top as well!
loads of the quotes i was getting were £600-900!!
-
my advice is ring them and see if they could do any better just say you like being with them but you have had a slightly better quote and see what they say. Rik

Its gone up a lot more than that for me. I've been with Direct Line for 4 years and its gone up every time, 4 years NCD too. I sent them a nasty letter along the lines of:
'No wonder you're not on any price comparison websites, you would be bottom of the list every time'
and
'Why not stop paying Stephen Fry et al so much money and bring the premiums down to a realistic amount instead'
I also showed them the 'disloyalty to long standing customers' card, then went to Swift Cover for about 500pa less. I'm done with em :y
-
The 03 Elite was something like £190. FC with PNCD. Sadly thats with Admiral.
-
Tried that with Admiral....amazing what can be done when they want to keep a long-standing customer............picked a number out of the air under what they wanted for renewal, and they beat it by a quid!! ;D ;D
-
It cost me some £650 to insure the 2.5TD this year; and that's with mirroring my (12 years) NCB from the other car (which also costs £650, but then it is putting out double the standard power with a list of modifications as long as my arm) ..
The car only cost me £950!
It's a lottery, I reckon. They just stick a pin in a list of numbers..

When mine was renewed in march several insurance companies told me that all car insurance had gone up by around 20% this year due to all the claims good and false ! :o

Had to leave Churchill today after being with them for about twenty years. I've got maximum NCB as I've never claimed and have got no convictions against me.
The reason:
I fessed up to my stainless exhaust and was told they would not cover me in the event of a claim and would not insure the vehicle with it on the car as it was modified. :-/ :-/
Thats after twenty years with them, I'm now with Admiral and even with declaring the stainless exhaust to them I'm paying £199 Fully Comp annually for my 03 3.2 Elite so I'm now paying £100 less than when I was with Churchill (I'm 48 & do under 5000 miles per year in this vehicle).
The lady at Churchill admitted that there is no point in being loyal to a company as they are more interested in offering discount for 'new' custom.

Is this just for the one car (Omega)
Do they look after you with multiple cars.
