looking through a new workshop supplies catalogue and came across these this link is for reference
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Emergency-Sump-Plug-Repair-fits-most-sumps-BN-/370189752760?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item56310759b8
has anyone tried them
they are cheaper in the catalogue

Looks as if it should work reasonable well.
Dont think I would want to rely on it permanently though.

They are a good "stop gap" fix. Have one in my workshop, and have used it when sump threads are buggered until I source another sump.
Not bad money........
-
Cant say I am keen on having a great big long thread protruding into the sump!
-
I should add....helicoil every time!
-
ABSOLUTELY.......
IF it is possible. But sometimes..................
Good to have a "stop-gap"
