looking through a new workshop supplies catalogue and came across these this link is for reference

Looks as if it should work reasonable well.

Dont think I would want to rely on it permanently though.

They are a good "stop gap" fix. Have one in my workshop, and have used it when sump threads are buggered until I source another sump.

Not bad money........

Cant say I am keen on having a great big long thread protruding into the sump!
