Apologises as I know this questions been asked before, but I couldn't find the original link that I responded to !.
I've bought a steering link arm off ebay, from the recomendation from some of you here.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Steering-Idler-Arm-110mm-9195731-Omega-Carlton-/170517287667?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM
However, I have my doubt as to the part I've been sent ?!.
The box it came in says 'Lemforder', but I'm not convinced that it's actually the part in the box, as there are no casting numbers on the part itself, which I thought there would of been ?.
Before I tearing off back to them complaining about a cheaper part being put in the box, etc, etc. I just wondered if anyone else has bought one of these off the place, and had any problems with it ?.
Or do you think it's a case of, I've been sent a cheaper part in a more expensive item box kind of thing ?. :-?

Don't think the cheaper part even has packaging as such, mine didn't have any markings on it that i recall but did look more substantial than the really cheap on. HTH
-
No specific markings on a good one other than maybe a casting that looks like an I or a 1.
A cheap one looks very poorly made so post a pic

They don't actually mention Lemforder on the ad so i'd be surprised that they've gone to the effort of sending a forgery when they could have sent anything in any box.

Good idea, will post one tomorrow. :y

Well guess I just want to be sure, as with suspension, brakes, steering, just want to make sure the cars safe at the end of the day, as wouldn't want to inadvertently kill anyone due to fitting an inferior part and the car going out of control if you understand :-/

Oh I don't disagree about using quality parts in critical areas but then again I won't buy stuff like that from ebay, all my past receipts say GM, Allparts or Eurocarparts. They might cost a little more and it might be the same part as ebay but i'm buying from a large chain supplying the trade who I assume don't want to lose reputation for selling dodgy gear. (I could of course be totally wrong but who knows)

I got one off ebay for 30 quid. IIRC it was advertised as OEM, when it came it was a Lemforder in Lemforder box, but with no particular markings on it. I think it's gen.

Mine came in a lemforder box too, had no casting markings, and was supplied by VX (Patchway cars)
Suspect its fine.

Most likely genuine but I'll check it when I come over ;)
Which reminds me... Sunday about 11 OK for you? :y

Thanks to everyone who responded to my question & worry about the part. Appreciate the feedback, and feel more confident about fitting it now.
Cheers :y

Mark and I had fun with one of those on mine. I recall whacking the living hell out of it for 2 days, then drove it around to Marks where he effectively looked from his lounge window and it fell off. He, of course, took all the credit.
