As the thread title kinda suggests.......i am considering modifying my 2.5v6 and am wondering where to start!I have heard of putting 3ltr cams in but i wanna keep spending to a minimum! is there anythin quick and simple? :-/
-
3.0 ltr cams. about £100. Not a lot else worth doing
-
short and sweet!lol.is the intake leob alot larger than the 2.5 cam or is it a timing thing?dont be shy about being technical cos i been workin on cars for years and understand the jargon :y
-
also........what kinda bhp/torque increase we lookin at and do i need to adjust timing? :-?
-
A couple of members swear by polishing the throttle bodies and replacing the protruding parts with more aerodynamic ones (screws replaced with countersunk items etc).
It must make 'some' difference, especially to throttle response, but how much I daren't say.
-
I can see why.i suppose its a air resistance/turbulance thing........Thats no.1 thing on list then.i gotta do headgasket on the bloody thing so im gonna decoke the head/bores etc...any more suggestions? :-?

I think Phil (Skruntie) suspected you were trying to circumvent the rules relating to the 250 post count when you enquired as to the availability of the cams. As suggested, if you put a wanted ad in the "Test" zone with a request for one of the Admins to move to relevant section all will be forgiven ;) :y

He's proper tall! ;D
-
3 ltr cams give about a 0.8mm extra lift so should effect valve timing by opening earlier and closing later. yes they do help.
-
0.8mm!!!doesn't sound a lot but that's quite considerable! :y thanks for the info!
