Title: Best leather cleaner?
Post by: Osprey on 07 September 2010, 23:48:05
My leather seats are supposed to be cream but were looking a bit grubby.  So I gave them the once over with Auto Glym and now they look – well just the same really.   :(

What’s the best leather cleaner out there?

It's mostly just a little dirty, but there are a few creases where I presume the surface colour has cracked.

Not sure how serious you are about the Dettol, or if you're pulling my pilsner.  Doesn't is make the car smell like a hospital?

experince says that no need for expensive material..

use nivea moisturizing cream ;D but use it at least 3-4 hours before you drive or you will have some creamy pants ;D ..  apply 2 times as a thin layer (not much ) with 15-20 minutes break..  :y

Thanks for the advice guys.   :y

That gliptone stuff looks like the dog's, I'll order some and give it a try.  They even do leather scented ai...  Oh, better not go there, I've hardly got any post count anyway.   ;)

Meguires Leather food is bloody good too, but a bit pricy, Lasts a long time too, but needs working in with a very soft nailbrush, and then wiping off with a damp soft cloth.
Gives brilliant results, but needs a fair bit of effort.

I just tried out the Gliptone leather cleaner, and very good it is too.  It even took the dirt out of the wear creases in the leather, which was a surprise.   :y

It didn't make the leather shiny, it does smell good and I didn't cream my pants.   ;)
