Title: You are all a bad influence..
Post by: aaronjb on 14 September 2010, 18:39:37
It's all your fault, none of it is down to my poor impulse control at all..

But thanks to all the time I spend reading threads here, I'm sitting here looking at three cars on Autotrader, and wondering what I could get for the tractor to offset the cost...

and

(Don't worry all those links really do go to Autotrader, I just shortened them with bit.ly as the 'trader links are humungous otherwise!)

Must.. resist.. and.. be.. sensible. Or something.

Very true!

Although you'd think all the posts about failed oil coolers, failed cam cover gaskets etc etc would put me off ..  ;D

Crikey, if you can even THINK of paying Roger Budden's prices, I can't see the problem really? Buy them all! ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

;D That one is, arguably, a touch over priced.. not sure I'd pay quite that much for one, even if it is relatively low mileage :)

Roger Budden's vehicles are always "top price" .. but you DO get a "top" vehicle and excellent after sales service. He does not sell or "do" rubbish.

I bought from him and have no regrets whatsoever, and I would buy from him again if the need arose.

HTH  :)

But I already have one of those  ;D And since it doesn't exactly get great economy, I figure I might as well enjoy what I'm driving ;)

The one with the cream interior is growing on me, rather .. one would imagine it's sold by now, though (I should really call the guy up..)

This reminds me of a question to which I'm sure I saw the answer recently but can't find it now .. which was the higher trim level originally, MV6 or Elite?

(Also the standard tape/CD player in the Facelift is hideous, isn't it!)

Mr Budden ??

Either way .. nice one ... you'll love it .. :)

If you are going to keep it/do lots of miles .. have a think about LPG ... cuts the fuel cost by 40% ..  :)

Yep from Mr Budden; got a reasonable trade in on the Diesel (considering it's clearly had a hard life) and with the warranty etc it's not a bad deal.. more expensive than the most closely specced private sale, but also about 60 miles closer to home :)

It's in really nice condition with the only bad points being a couple of stone chips below the front grille on the bonnet, and a couple of very small areas of wear on that silly interior finish.. other than that it drives so much better than the tractor it's like stepping into a different car altogether.

It won't do starship mileage; with two cars now I reckon I'll average ~6k per year in each car (maybe a little more in the Omega than the MR2, as the MR2 really isn't a 'comfortable' commuter car anymore!).. so I'll probably leave the LPG for a while - not sure I've seen any LPG stations around here (at least not on my drive to & from work or the immediate area) anyway.
