I'm pretty sure the owner of it is a member on here. I really like the fact it's been left looking standard, no stupid wheels and bodykits to spoil it.

If only GM had had the balls to make it. As Josh says, no silly wheels or go-faster-stripes to give the game away.  :y  :y

That is perfect. Could do with a supercharged 6.0, mind... ;)

... was soon supercharged to up the power but the standard engine let go ...

A salutary lesson there for those who want to tune the V6.

Still, I do like that. :-*

Not last time I saw him - unless he's been doing a bit of stealth cloaking. Plus he knows I'd steal it.  ;D

Advert mentions no ac, can that be added? and wipers don't park?a fault un related to the v8, or is there no room for the stock wiper motor? Looks like there is.

Where's 2woody when you need him?

this sounds like bull****, but I've been hiding in the HMS Astute build facility in Barrow for the last week !

no, it's not mine, but the guy is a member on here. A search should reveal all.

It's an Omega converted to V8 using an LS1 engine/trans from a wrecked Monaro.

Mine's a Holden Commodore - the "real-deal" all Australian Omega B V8.

Actually, I paid only just over half that amount for my car, but £7K seems reasonable, PROVIDED it was put together right.

and no, I'm not selling, but I could be persuaded to build a replica if someone wanted one.

cheaper than £7K that's for sure.

I'd probably charge about half that, but at least you'd get a properstandard, including brakes, etc.

If it is actually someone on here who owns the car, then surely they must have access to a computer. So why does the add start off with (advertising for a friend who hasn't access to a computer) or something along those lines.  :-/

I don't understand that either.

from his previous posts, he was enthusiastic and not the kind to be selling straight away.

Would importing one of Woody's Holdens not be an easier route to V8 heaven?

Possibly, but they have no toys, as I understand it..... :-/

Easier to insure though.

I don't know about the toys Chris maybe Woody can tell us.

Yep, I would think insurance would be a bit less painful on the unmodified car.

From previous posts Mr Woody is not a toy fan, think Fred flintstones car with a v8. No tc no pas, no ac, no nothing. Think a heater is allowed but only to cool the engine probably  ;D

I am the exact opposite, I want it all, all of it, nothing less, tv DVD fridge in the glove box, iPod blutooth connectivity, aaaaall of it. Sadly I am useless with electrics so tv and DVD is out as I don't know anyone prepared to tackle it. Not really possible anyway they say... :'(

the Holden is not what you'd call "functionally rich"

it has got ABS, remote locking and electric windows and it did have aircon, but that's now in its rightful place in a box in the shed.

doesn't have traction control or electronic heating system or even variable brightness instrument back-lights. And certainly doesn't have things like satnav or rear screen blind

but is does have the all-NASCAR noise when you give it loud. I should bring it to a "meet" shouldn't I

Robsymv6  brought his monaro to the oxford meet, that is loud, I like subtle loud, not blue murder loud :o in a nice v8 way though  :D

The rightful place for aircon is in the car.

I detest driving in summer without aircon - best thing to hit cars in years

Remind me, why did gm cancel the omega v8 project? Anything to do with cooling the rear cylinders when flat out on the autobahn? Or was that an excuse?
