Right seeing as i cant get an answer to my question on vvoc i`ll ask you lot..... i`ve got a light on the dash that is a car with a spanner on it...now wellung cleared it for me a few weeks ago but its come back and its supposed to be water coolant temp sensor....but now i`ve read the handbook and it says engine/transmission/electrical fault so i`ve asked on vvoc if anybody knows where the  water coolant temp sensor is but as to yet 1 week and counting no answer......any help????

The light coming on, as you say is signifying a fault with either the engine, transmission or electrical systems on your car.
If the fault was cleared from the e.c.u. memory without changing the sensor (or fixing the fault) the light will come back on.
If the fault is fixed the light will go out automatically, you don't need to clear the fault codes with a laptop or "My Naff Code Reader" etc.

I can't say for sure but cts' are usually around the thermostat area, aren't they?

Collant temp sensor is located on the thermostat housing passenger side of the head underneath the engine cover :y

Not to bad to do on these but, I would replace the whole stat housing (they come with a new sensor) as the stats can cause 'issues' with age.

Statistically you seem to have had more problems with this than your previous cars, given the time period... ::) ::)
