A mate of mine has a 530d 2004. He has just rang for a quote to get work done. He wanted a full service, front discs and pads, and rear pads. He rang the BMW main dealer and spoke to a nice lady, she said, the service will be £230, rear pads £173, Front discs and pads £399.11.
I thought VX dealers wer steep.

My Dad's local Mercedes garage said they could "do him a deal" on mot, major service, and brake pad change. His car has just done 48k, so its a major service and fluid change. As he was a regular customer, the whole cost would "only" be £799...................
(cough, splutter, sniff........thats more than I paid originally for my first miggy saloon............)

my mate has a c class merc on lease, apart from the fact it costs him 600 quid a month as part of the deal he has to have it serviced at mercedes using only mercedes parts and fluids. a standard service sets him back 400 quid each time. now consider the fact that his 2008 c class has just hit 110k miles (he's had it from new) and you can start to see how much its cost him in that time. oh and for every mile he goes over their original agreed 'limit' it costs him 3p. he exceeded that limit a long time ago. *gulp*.

I gather, BMW have at least two service plans, one is fluids and filters. Other includes brakes. My brother in law just paid almost £900 for the latter....idiot. ;D
Not sure what they do re cam belts, or are beemers all chain?

lol just did a full service plus new intercooler, and new paint on the bottom half drivers door here on a merc 320cdi, had the car for a week while i did it around other jobs, charged him 700 euro inclusive of parts, and he asked if i had made a mistake on the bill? when i asked why, he told me last time it was serviced at mercedes just for fluids/filters it cost him 450 euros :(
long story short his mates now want thiers doing cos its half the price of the merc dealers and i keep the old parts to show them!!!! bastardo of a car to work on though!!
edit tried the spanish for barsteward and it gets through the filter!!lol

Helped younger brother change the clutch on his Merc estate over the weekend. I have no idea what the price for that job would be at a dealership, but as I was told the release bearing alone is circa £200 then I daresay it would be touching 3 figures. Oh, help and advice on doing it online is non-existent too, M-B forums are useless, and the Haynes destruction manual handsomely beats their own standards for nonsense as well.
I'm thankful I have the Omega and able to get brilliant advice from everyone on here. :y
