Hi guys
I know its not a miggy but I need some help on this please.
Ive got an 05 plate 1.4 16v Astra & the problem I've got is that its losing coolant, there is no leaks in the system whatsoever, did over 500 miles in it, drove faultless no overheating, there is no warning lights on either.
There has been some slight evidence of white 'mayo' substance on the oil filler cap but no contamination in the dip stick or expansion tank,oh & there is no white smoke coming from the exhaust.
Can someone please shed some light on this as its doing my head in!!
Many Thanks

my 1.2 corsa did the same, i'd say expect the worst, it didnt overheat but on a single 50 mile run it lost half a litre of coolant and had a questionable amount of sludge, i.e. not a disgusting amount but enough to make me suspect something was far from right, after all it was hot enough to have burned away any condensation
it only had 54k on the clock too

How much Coolant are you losing per day or per 100 miles etc.

Drain the oil and check it, the favourite is the cam chain cover where the waterpump attaches. The rubber seal in the metal plate degrades and lets the coolant through to the oilways under pressure.
