Title: Well it's foobarred!
Post by: Welung666 on 15 October 2010, 13:58:31
Fitted the used belt and top tensioner bolt I picked up off Dan last night to the blue MV6 sat on the drive. Timed it all up and spun it over a few times by hand (virtually no resistance though :( ), the timing is smack on. Re-fitted all the gubbings (plenum, air-box etc.) and stuck a battery on it. Fuel pressurised up and... turns over super fast, and backfired. Out came the plugs and in with the compression tester. Best reading was 160psi on number 6 the rest were 100psi or more lower so I think this will get broken now. Shame really, the interior is immaculate :(

just a thought, not a firm offer or suggestion, i haven;t yet decided what to do with it, but do you want to do a deal on my elite estate to donor an engine?   and break the full toys and elite trim bits?  i'm just thinking yours might be a nicer motor body condition wise ......    my 3.0 v6 had a new cambelt and stuff only 4000 miles ago...  it's got ALL the other minifacelift elite toys as well.....      like i said, it is ONLY a thought......
