how much of a PITA is it to change a dis pack - well i can testify (along with others on this forum i'm sure) that the answer is loads!! :o
spent ages on saturday changing my mv6's dis pack, my hands were in tatters by the time i had finished & thank god for Cipher's guide :y
had to change the starter motor today as that has been getting steadily weaker & weaker and finally coughed and died this morning, 2 hours and one removed engine mount later that job was done too (had to get someone to come and help on that job though as i didn't fancy doing the engine mount myself) :D the starter was well buggered when it was finally removed! :-/
the job's themselves are not too bad it's that pesky lack of space that is the worst part & certainly with the dis pack i was working blind as well for most of the time ;D quite satisfying though when the replacement dis is in place and you start the car :y

Well done. I have done my DIS pack twice but have yet to do the starter motor. :y :y

if you think thats bad try changing the steering box.. (the haynes way is a big lie btw)

it sounds like the steering box is one job to definitely try to avoid :D
how come you have had to do your dis pack twice varche? :-?
my next job is the abs ecu although i'm not sure when at the moment, i've spent enough dough recently on the motor & had to go get a battery last night (had to bump start the car to get home from work >:() as all the sheninigans with the starter motor recently had buggered that as well :o
