It's still taxed and MOT'd, but should I insure my Omega barge and use it occasionally?
It would only be very occasionally the price of petrol!
Great to drive though.
Best insurance quote on tinternet is £210, 4k miles, voluntary excess £475 + compulsory excess of £225.
For me only, 49, nice part of York, 12+ years no claims and no convictions.
Quote from RSA Choice.
Which I think is bloody horrendous! :o :o :o
Anyone any better recommendations?

Well, the way i see it:-
It'll cost you around £200 insurance, £240 RFL, £50 MOT so around £500.
Now if you have an accident and it gets 'written off' (which even for a small bump is highly likely) itll cost you £700+ in access and as insurance will only value it at £1000 you end up with no car and £300 cash BUT it will have cost you around £500 to have it on the road, so effectively you are £200 down on the deal.
So i'll take it off your hands for £500.
You'll save atleast £500 for it just to sit on your drive AND you'll have another £500 in your pocket making you £1000 better off!!
Win Win in my eyes ;D
