Title: One job brings another
Post by: Jimbob on 12 November 2010, 08:42:53
had Ljays car set up at Nigel Langs yesterday...

Drove much better on the way home, nothing was very far out, but after subframe bushes, track rod, and wishbones had all been replaced it needed doing, plus had bad tyre wear from some of the above.
Even adjusted the caster with a subframe adjustment  :y

2 new tyres now (which I knew)

Plus while I got it off the ramp, discovered no reversing lights  >:(  only replaced that switch a year or 2 ago, so need to work out whats not working.

Plus, where the passenger exhaust pipe leave the cat, the join is leaking, so need to find someone to weld that.

One thing after another   :'( :'( :'(

The reversing light switch on mine has gone...  Where is the switch and is it easy to change???

I just use my Rear Fogs when reversing at night at the moment, but, does get interesting at car parks...

I try not to chase down all the faults and ignore the issues that come and go for no immediately apparent reason. eg headlamp range warning - has not been on for months but sure as eggs is eggs it will come back for a time in the near future. Same with ParkPilot where I and others are pretty sure problems are in wiring.

someone posted yesterday about a sparks having detected a host of wiring issues. I suppose they just get to an age when these issues arise from water ingress into wiring loom areas etc

Yeah, I keep getting fault code 55 (replace ECU) on the radio & sunroof.

Both work fine.

in the last 50,000 miles, all mine has had replaced is consumables: lots of fresh oil, some front springs & shocks, trackrod and drop links, tyres and a cambelt kit. Nothing else.

Not bad going!  :)

Mother T's 3.0 Elite has also had nothing done to it, just cambelt and oils since we got it 2 years ago!
