Despite all our hopes and wishes the news is not good.  :(

Not bad, but not good.

It's failed on both rear springs snapped and steering idler wear, which is odd as I wasn't aware of any handling issues.

As much as I would have liked to sort it myself, I don't have the time and , more to the point, I don't have the facilities.

So it is still in the garage, they have the springs, but the idler won't arrive until tomorrow.

I must say the garage I use is pretty good, very reasonable price-wise. Needless to say it is NOT a Vauxhall stealer! I'll update further tomorrow when I know more.

Ho hum.....

Disappointing news DJ but at least the defective parts will soon be changed and you'll have a fresh MOT. 8-) :y :y

Picked up the car this afternoon, came straight home - just a few minutes drive - so couldn't really assess if there was any noticeable difference in the car. Total bill was £260....

I'm going to go back to the garage tomorrow to have a whinge...

Whilst driving home I thought the steering wheel felt a bit strange, sort of gritty.

Got home and saw that my hands were dirty (no they hadn't been before!), then I spotted greasy marks on the driver's door card! The steering wheel was covered in greasy muck too.

Really not good enough  >:(

sorry to hear about the MOT and heres me moaning about 2 new tyres i had to buy.  ;D
i wouldnt be very happy with muck all over my car either, my mechanic always covers the seats etc and wears gloves when doing jobs on cars.
im back at the garage tomorrow to see if my damn heater can be fixed, more bloody expense looming. im having serious thoughts about getting summat cheaper cos im not looking forward to the heater news lol
