Title: Frontera
Post by: mantahatch on 29 November 2010, 20:08:19
Looking for a small project (ha) and have been offered a 99 Frontera auto with a V6 3.2 with broken cam belt. Would I be right in thinking the engine is different to the Omega ?

All labour would be done by myself, so is it worth having a go at it, or does the engine completly self destruct

All advice appreciated. Thank You

The Isuzu engine? I did the cam covers for a guy round the corner in his 2000my and that had the Vx 3.2! The only reference Google has to the 3.2 petrol frontera is a straight six. I'll sit corrected then but I'll ask him about his Vx engine though.

the 3.0 Frontera was the same 54degree V6 that we ave

the 3.2 Frontera was a Honda twin-cam engine. Would probably fit in an Omega as long as you don't want a manual, as I believe it was the same AR35 transmission. Recipe would be Honda engine, AR35 bellhousing on Omega AR35. Quite interesting

if you do get it for the engine, can I have the transmission please ?
