Title: Would I look like a drug dealer if
Post by: Del Boy on 01 December 2010, 13:56:35
I bought a BMW 7 series which has a factory fitted Alpina body kit and 21" alpina alloys :o I personally like it and as it's one of about 10 in the country that had a factory fitted alpina kit, I doubt I'll see another one :)

If its Black with Blacked out windows then you is a deela innit!
If its an e38, it will be an extremely goergous motor. ;)

Personally I do not think being a drug dealer is a nice/good thing, all joking aside.

However, joking back again, looking like a drug dealer is fine!! Go for it, an Alpina 7series is very cool, and I hate BMWs! Its also cool as only people who know cars know what it is. :)

Does that have Alpina badges, instead of the Beemer Blue propellors, by the way?

It does  :y

Drug dealer look I agree isn't a good thing, it's not an E38 though it's an E65 730d.

Umm. That's got about 3 times as much "wheel" as would look sensible. ;D

I don't understand it. The 7 series is supposed to be a supremely comfortable car above anything else.. And they stretch a couple of elastic bands round the wheels so it transmits every pimple on the road surface into the suspension. (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-angry003.gif)

Sorry Del, don't like the Alpina stuff at all so far personally.

But what ever blows your skirt up as they say... :-/

As if Bmw drivers don't have a big enough image problem... :P.  ....and I suppose of all Beemers the 7 is the one to fit it to.  ;D

7 series are supposed to be the comfy cars - would be better with normal tyres for comfort

Nice cars though

very very nice, its not my choice of kit and alloys but you'd have to work very hard to make it look awful

my opinion, but i've had a soft spot for this particular shape since it was launched

As an ex 7 series owner they are awesome cars but they are so expensive to keep running, I remember one service costing me £1600 - so if you do look at one make sure it has lots of well documented service history.  I am still in touch with the guy that bought mine and he keeps it wrapped up in a heated garage and uses it a few weekends a year.

And that blue one with the Alpina kit looks drop dead gorgeous!  :y

Thought BMW had a staged service system? Something like £200 oil and filters, £600 if belts are needed, £800 if brakes are needed?

Or something along those lines.

Brother in law paid 900 plus, but the belt wasn't due! They shafted him. If only he had said, it's out of warranty and I know an ex BMW service manager who has started out on his own. £60 an hour iirc, could have saved brother in law a fortune, the pillock!

My dealership is nothing like that at all, £130 for oil & filters, £200 for most fluids and a car inspection and £275 for all fluids full car inspection. That's good service if you ask me  :y So he paid £900 for an aux belt to be changed? Because all beemer engines use timing chains.

I did say "something" like that... Proud to say I am not in the least familiar with BMW's engine range re belts and chains. But yes I he was well shafted for what was done, can't remember exactly what though... :-/
