Ah, I remember the bliss of fuel pumps that you could latch on, save having to hold it in all the time...

Us British are far too stupid to deal with such things, so they are banned here  :'(

Mind you, after seeing that clip about the brain dead chav who phoned the police about her snowman, I can understand why...

i think its probably cos noone can afford to use the latch and "fill er up" anymore, so the pins rotted and fell out the pumps  ;D ;D ;D

I have a small steel pin, that lives in a cable tie base, stuck inside the filler flap. Fits perfectly in the hole so it latches on....... no cold hands here  ;D ;D

Was bliss using those latched pumps in Slovenia  ;)

Those LPG pump handles are a bit nippy now, especially the BP style ones

We now have to hold the trigger of the pump in all the time now, and have had to for about the last 15 years :(

I wear gloves this time of year to fill up LPG, esp after the one at the Shell at Paulerspury got me, still got the 'burn' marks now...

but as discussed here a while back, the holes are still in the pump nozzle and if you had your own pin made from 2.5mm welding rod  ;) you could use that instead, which would allow you to let go of the pump nozzle - just don't wander off to far though cos it upsets the girls in the kiosk  ;)  ;)  ;)

It's more often the person behind you asks wtf you are doing, when they don't realise, & think you are just standing there!
The other option is wedge the fuel cap under the handle, works just as well  ;)
