Title: MG ZT
Post by: Del Boy on 12 December 2010, 17:54:08
MG ZT's with the 4.6 V8, don't you just think they're lovely? Just looking at them and thinking what a handsome looking brute they really are, and I mean the engine is hugely tuneable too  :o

I think the std power is fairly modest, but I should be tweakable

Oh standard power is terrible for such a big engine, but it does sound good  :o

lol delivered the first ones when they were in production, picked up from brum delivered to purfleet docks, needless to say had to test them on the docks, quite disappointing the way they drifted or powerslid, but did find some were better than others? needless to say parked the transporter as far away from, the line the cars were supposed to be in as possible so i had quite a nice twisty flat out drive to park the cars in the lines

Styling is far too "Hyacinth Bucket" for me but a mate of mine had sone and it sounded nice indeed. It was nice for Rover to be producing screwing together a proper V8 car again, briefly.

Indeed, it was good, if very short lived, to see a V8 powered Rover on sale again.

Still want another SD1 Vitesse but have nowhere to keep it and can't believe what good ones now fetch!  :o

I scrapped a series 1 V8 Vanden Plas (admittedly the body was suffering some slight corrosion *) and got £50 for it many years ago....  :'(

* the term 'slight corrosion' has a different meaning when applied to an SD1!

V8S was similar to the model destined for the States wasn't it?

The V8S had a very short run (i think two years) & it was replaced by the VDP.

I'm not 100% that they sold that model in the US, but if someone knows better?

That's the pitiful FWD shopping trolley version, though, no, as it's the 190?

The 260 is the one you want ;)

.....there's a 2004 estate on Auto trader with a Mustang engine for £20,000! :o

Is £20,000 for a 6 year old ZT-T a fair price? :-?

Not a particularly great drive and the cabin is rather bland.

Pretty well screwed together.

But 20k....you could get a more powerful Monaro which has a more capable chassis for half that
