Title: Volkswagen Touareg 2.5 TDi problem
Post by: Del Boy on 20 December 2010, 09:43:09
Right well, got my eye on a 55 plate Touareg 2.5 TDi, anyway since the cold weather has started it has become loud on tick over and it doesn't pull as well as it did before. Any ideas what this could be?

a common problem on these is alternator bearings which is evident on tickover and can be loud  but i dont know if it would affect performence  worth checking though as it is a common fault :y

EGR valve would be my starter for ten.

VW (and BMW) are sneeky shites with the ECU software and dont raise the fault light for many codes and actualy some codes they do this absed on time left to service.

How bad is it smoking (they tend to smoke a bit anyway)

Not smoking badly, where is the EGR do you know? Also how much just for a new one roughly?
