Title: RENAULT ESPACE
Post by: Mr Skrunts on 22 December 2010, 20:38:33
RENAULT ESPACE AUTHENTIQUE

Just been looking at one online, need a cheap runabout till the new year, (story to follow if I DARE print it) thought if I could get something cheap and it was reliable then might keep it till arround easter and get shut.

What are they like to live with.

How's the drivers space (Size wise) compared to an Omega.

Are they hefty oninsurance being a people carrier?

TIA.

Crap, crap and crap. I avoid all French cars as a rule. From all the contacts I know, they're good when working but do have a habit of electrical issues coming up, which can be hard and expensive to fix.
From auction, they're lovely and cheap, even the top top spec onbut that's because everyone's a bit wary of them.

I'm intrigued to know the story you dare print?  ::)
Send me a PM with budget, spec, colour etc and I'll see if I can find something local to you.

V6 ones certainly to be avoided. Very thirsty for not much go and eat autoboxes.

Driving space is plentiful but position is a bit "upright". Trim a bit "tupperware" until it falls off.

As larger people carriers go, though, it they don't drive that badly, IMHO. Somewhere between a car and a van, which is actually not bad. Some are full-on into the van territory.

We had one of these espace's when I lived in France, Was a great bus, had the diesel.  Was quick, spacious and easy to live with!!!  Apart from a flat tyre never had any issues with it!!!

Have in what i think was a 1.9 Diesel, not sure if it was a turbo.  Was quite impressed with it, but was only a low miler and 2 years old.  Plus was a few years ago

lets be honest, not all french cars are crap..

meganes, lagunas have their faults (lets not forget citroen) but you can live with that.. bimmers, audis have more problems although they are german cars and many people are ready to pay them more..

my clit, except the charging problem (which could be solved easly with an extra cable) had no problems so far..(touch wood ;D)

Ahh I thought they'd forced everyone to get photocard licences by now.. but no, only if you get caught doing something naughty and have to send your licence off (or move house, etc etc)..

I never could really figure out why we don't have ID cards (I realise there was a big fuss about that, but I guess having been in a military family, I see it differently)

Anyhoo, back to Renaults :D
