Title: Oi you savernors
Post by: Vamps on 23 December 2010, 21:22:26
Because you lot can't drive in the snow we can't have any more salt/grit cos the Government feels it is needed in the South so we can not get any reserve stock....Durham will reduce the roads it grits after Christmas, and the snow keeps falling.... Unbelievable in this day and age, snow throughout the country, the Highways agency can't cope and we grind to a halt....... ::) ::) ::)

Quite frankly I'm often at 'sixes and sevens' should I have to venture outside the curtilage of the inner Home Counties. :D :D

I do not have experience with abs in adverse conditions (snow/ice) but IAM teaches accelleration sense utilising engine and breaks to slow naturally and eventually stop.
Using breaks sparingly to signal other rd users of stopping/slowing.  Not sure of its use in current conditions, but worth considering.
