Looks like my n/s manifold blow is coming from the pulse air? system, the pipes that go into the top of ex. manifold. Think thats Vx term. If i disconect the pump will this bring on EML 'cause i pulled the one of the solenoid easier to get to, and the eml came on, reconnected and it went off again.
i know this system warms the cats up but do i really need it like the dreaded EGR system just an emissions ploy.
Any ideas anyone :)

Pulse air?
Do you mean secondary air injection? Or EGR?
If it is the SAI that can be bypassed with ne ill effects at all.

If it's going into the passenger manifold, as Fin says, it's likely to be the secondary air injection. This can be blocked off (with 2 AA batteries - cheers Mark!), and then unplugged, without any problems.
If it's the EGR over on the drivers side, then unplugging it will put the EML on, and won't help with any blows.
I changed my EGR today, as it was blowing like buggery.

If the SAI pipes have blown, esp the rubber ones, worth checking the exhaust/cats aren't blocked....

Thanks all. Yes its the SAI, different horses for courses. cheers.
Short of removing system and checking cats I'm still unsure about this kwik fit exhaust that the car came with, Still i'll keep you posted of any updates. :)
Might have to wait till i can use the ramps at my new place now :y
