Planning on changing the wishbones on the TD tomorrow.
:D
Got a pair of Lemforders from Jason at All German Parts, and my friendly Vx parts people sourced new nuts/bolts at a very fair price too.
I've also Poly-bushed the front ends of each wishbone, thanks to Turk's advice!
;)
Then it'll be a trip to WIM for a full set-up!
;D

have fun ;D just before my omega went i did both wishbones and it was easier than i thought hope it all goes without problems :y

Won't be a problem to a man of your talent.
The only bit I found difficult was getting the outer ball joint to locate in the knuckle at the back of the hub.
In hindsight I should have undone the droplinks at the top or bottom, would have allowed more movement.
Anyway good luck with it. :y

Thanks Kneepad, these shouldn't be too troublesome, as they were separated quite recently when I removed the subframe to change the sump.
:D
If only I had the new wishbones at that time eh?
The 'law of the sod' etc springs to mind!

Pictures are no problem Debs - hosting 'em up on to OOF hasn't been mastered by this scribe yet!

Apparently, Photobucket isn't Mac-compatible ..... ooerr!

You could try:

Not sure if it's ok for macs but have a look.
Edit: just checked it will work with macs. :y

Good luck :y
So how much were your bolts? I was quoted £30 at my local (useless) stealer >:(

Good luck B, hope things go well. 8-) :y :y

We will be waiting for the 'all clear' report......
;)

Phew - job done!
:y
Taking my time, and working methodically, I reckon that start-to-finish was around three hours.
That included having to split/chisel-off the forward offside wishbone nut - so not too bad for a novice!
:D
I followed chrisgixer's excellent guide: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1285891052
Thanks for this Mr 'gixer!
;)
However, a couple of points to note:
* Being a TD, you really need to release the oil cooler pipes from the filter base, as you'll encounter considerable difficulty accessing/removing/refitting the rear (vertical) wishbone bolt.
Although the oil loss is minimal, a drip-tray avoided any mess here.
* With both sides of the car raised off the ground and securely supported with stands, disconnect BOTH drop-links as your first task after removing the wheels.
The anti-roll bar can then be positioned upwards so as to aid removal/refitting of the 'bones themselves. This also made refitting of the lower ball-joint reasonably straightforward.
* Give all the nuts/bolts a good spraying with Plusgas or similar a day or two prior to doing the work - this really paid off!
Thanks to everyone's supportive comments on here - much appreciated, believe me!
::)
It's now time to indulge in a nice hot bath, and thence sample some of Mrs Sethsmate's made home-made apple crumble with piping hot runny custard for tea - mmmmmm!
;)
Thanks again everyone, from The Valleys!

Well done SM, I must confess I didn't take the cooler pipes off when I did mine, and while awkward, it was still doable fairly easily. I recall the most difficult bit was retrieving a nut dropped into the chassis. :y :y :y

A good job done then. I didn't remove cooler pipes either, and as for the nut dropping into the chassis - it's still there! ::)

Less than £15 all in iirc.
