As before in my other post i have bought a 2l tdci 2005 mondeo and have been told about the chips they do for them and had this company recomended http://www.dieselexpress.co.uk/. Has any one had any dealings with them and do these chips really do what they say they do. After all it only £95 is it worth a punt?

would leave chips alone engine on them are good. mine got me home with a snapped piston,, dead at door but got me home.

Yeah I know they are ok but I just wanted a but more would the bluefin chip do any harm

have the ecu checked see what the test comes up with if its standard setting can have them adjusted. think it cost £30 then theres no harm done then, chips are unreliable can off set other setting then you just burn out the engine.

Bluefin (and other remaps) work by modifying data in the ECU which increases the duration that the injector stays "open" for on each stroke. Thus, more fuel is allowed to enter the cylinder.

In short:

Tuning boxes = More pressure = More fuel = Bigger bang = More power :)

Bluefin = Longer injection time = More fuel = Bigger bang = More power :)  i know a few people that have gone down the bluefin route with mondeos and all have been happy  do a search on google  plenty of info on the net :y

Not quite!

Tuning boxes = Same fuel pressure but reported to the ECU as lower = ECU extends injector duration time to compensate = Bigger bang = More power :)

We have a '54  Focus Tdci 1.8 which has been Bluefinned from almost new. Performance & economy are superb.

On the superchips web site they have various before/after power/torque curves & I'd say that they are pretty accurate.  :y
