I`ve (easily) got a tonne of heavy steel/iron here; just need better weather to cut it up into Debs` size chunks that I can lift on my own into the trailer. :y

They produce a lot of top quality coking coal used in steel production in the area.

People can't get to work due to allthe flooding and won't for weeks so no coke and therefore no steel. It will add up to a shortage.

I can't believe how copper has rocketed in value these last few months. Electrical rewire cable !!!!!!

The shipping line I used to egineer for in a previous life used to regularly load coal at Newcastle NSW for the cement plant at Ube, Japan, as well as coals at Brisbane for steel plant use in Japan as well...

Nice place, lots of fine memories.  Bit soggy now though...   :o
