today , after the morning rush and panic and stress of having two cats brought to the million miles distant veterinary for spaying come back home for a normal day..
I was curious as one friend was having problems with lpg on his 30K miles mondeo.. :-/ and called him ..
said still problem continues.. I said ok I 'm preparing the friends pc lets meet there at 4 pm..I said drive the car on normal fuel to see if it does again.. which it did :-?
anyway, we go there to have the car checked.. (sparks were changed, throttle cleaned) and before I talked to the mechanic friend and he said ignition components or lambda could be problem.. (which I disagree as the car is nearly new) when we go there we all witnessed the misfires from time to time without any obvious reason.. I said lets try a code reader (EML light on) ..which gave injector #4 voltage problem.. I said thats a cabling/loom problem..(Correct 8-))
but before visiting the lpg shop (as it was in guarantee) we tried new plugs and leads , DIS etc and was the same .. but suddenly we see when we play with the cable the engine becomes normal then worse related with position :P
off to the LPG installer.. they changed the cables, sockets 3 times but all cables were faulty :-? :(
nearly 9 pm (we were frozen ) they decided to change the loom completely, cut the faulty sockets soldered the cables directly and problem solved.. :-X :-X
BRC installation on a 2.0 4 pot mondy..

Not good! Poor workmanship though unfortunately... No excuse for it

definitely.. when I see they drill the manifold in situ , minute one goal one! what you expect from a conversion done in half a day >:(
and besides ,in normal BRC installations there must be 6 step of calibrations which must be carefully done for sensors which they did not and load a ready one.. :-?

I had a very similar problem with my Stag lpg loom cem, I was literally pulling my hair out for more than 3 weeks trying to solve a misfire on my installation until I discovered the loom wiring to no:1 'piggyback' injector plug was fitted the wrong way round!!! >:(
Aren't these things supposed to be tested at the point of manufacture? :-/

those sockets unreliable imo.. we end up soldering all connections and get rid of them ;D ;D
honestly in all electrical devices, socket connections are a pita.. within time they are covered with oil and dust and if someone plays with them, hard to find the fault..
and soldering also breaks in time :(

Hence the reason I state in the guides to thoroughly check to loom before fitting ;) ;)
Yes, they are supposed to be tested but at the end of the day there will always be the odd one which slips through ;) ;) May have been a "Friday Afternoon" Loom ::) ::)
