It is because it's the mk1 pop light type

might be worth investigating that route then with a mileage limit.

For me Royal Sun Alliance via the AA has given me a fair deal with full protection, whilst being excellent during a recent claim, and the one before (both classed as the other drivers fault!) :y :y :y

 :o

Personally I couldn't think of a worse insurance company!

No matter how little they were to quote me, I wouldn't touch Adrain Flux with a barge pole! (not that I have even given them the pleasure of supplying me with a quote for nearly 10 years).

There seems to be a great many on Pistonheads who feel the same way. If in any doubt then this thread should be a bit of an eye opener for you;

Even better, several threads all with plenty of bad things to say about Adrian Flux;

There's a whole load more threads commenting on Adrian Flux's so called 'customer service', but I was getting bored of copying and pasting the links.

adrian flux gave me the best quote on my bora, and one of the worst on my MV6!!

some companies quoted me less for the mv6 with NO no claims, than adrian flux did with 5 years!!

I've never had a problem with 'Flux, but then again I've never needed to make a claim (touch wood!)

There's A-Plan and Sky Insurance, both of whom know about imports and soforth. I've had quotes off A-Plan (very helpful people!) and Sky (helpful but not so competitive for me)

Got more than one car? I found (well, ok, ok, someone here - AndyB I think - pointed me to it) a good multicar policy recently..

This ^^^^^^

We've been with A-Plan for the last 5-6 years. Darren, Henry and the rest of the team down at Thatcham are a great bunch.

We insure all our cars with them. They might not be the cheapest, as sometimes someone else will undercut them by £20 or so, but their customer service is first class.
