which wud u choose? :) :) :) :)

To me the Corniche is a sublimely elegant car but I'd much rather have the Grosser.
-
Nah Zee ... Corniche every time (better still, neither car, just the money to be able to run one of them !).
-
come off it lol
that merc is stunning!!! 8-) 8-) 8-)
-
Fantastic. I'd forgotten about that.
Rowan Atkinson - a bit of a petrolhead - was on telly once talking about cars he's had/got, and said he'd always aspired to owning a Merc 'Bigger' . As he was driving his new Grosser home he stopped at traffic lights and saw himself in a big shop window.
He thought ..... what a kn0b ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
I did not watch the whole clip, but the Merc seemed to have more presence imho....... :o :o
-
hahaha yeah but to be fair, it prob wasn't the car..... he probably just realised he was mr bean!!!! hahahaha
the grosser or 'the big' is awsome. although the 15k service bill doesnt fill me with delight lol
-
if you cant park that car, what would you do.. ;D
and a service cost of 15K .. no thanks.. :-/
-
Despite being a classic car owner & fan they're both a bit far fetched for me. Gun to my head i'd take the Roller although the Merc was impressive. Clarkson called the Roller a Zephyr, i'd rather have a Mk2 or 3 Zephyr/Zodiac than either of them.
And he was wearing green shoes so his opinion does'nt count!!! ;D :D

The merc is a little harsh in the eyes tbh.... the cornish would be my choice because I am an old fart at heart and it's the one place I would look good away from the boat smoking my pipe ;D ;D ;D
-
hahaha all valid points ;)
hopefully ill get my dictator certificate soon so i can buy 'the big'
:D :D

I think they have some sort of interlock that means you can't take them out of Park until you're picked up the pipe from its' holder on the dash. ;D
I'm with you, TBH. The Merc. looks an awesome machine but it's just a little vulgar IMHO.

No contast
The RR for me.
-
not a fan of either of them tbh. (rather have that firebox replica of the tv series Batman car theyre advertizing at the momment) but , pushed, Id go for the RR
-
The Merc is cooler, no contest :)
-
The Merc is going to be very comfy in the back, but you'd expect that from the world's biggest taxi manufacturer.
I'd have the the Rolls any day. Just got that slight hint of naughty charm, and I wouldn't have people trying to flag me down every time I drove it. ;)

I was thinking of my aristocratic connections, but, on reflection, "Old Fart" sums it up nicely :y
-
I have always loved the RR, although out of all of them I'd sooner have a silver ghost like this:

My brother had a Dinky model of one and I have loved them ever since!! 8-) 8-)
-
(stiff upper lip mode) I'll take the roller old chap ;D

Ah, but The Royal Family didn't have Rolls-Royces as they thought models like the Silver Ghost were brash and for the nouveau-riche. They had Daimlers instead, much more respectable y'know.
There is a twist in this little tale. the Queen Mother after the Second World War developed a preference for the big Jaguar saloons. Now, if Rolls-Royce were a bit brash then Jaguar were positively raffish and the choice of cads and lovable rogues at that time - which they still are in many people's eyes.

Corniche every time for me, but that'll come as no surprise.
I'll have a spare Bentley Turbo engine coming up soon, tho.
