Why the cynicism??? I know the car & I know the owner. Used to be a member here

This made me search on ebay for "Irmscher Omega" stuff and was suprised how much it came up with .... i thought Irmscher stuff for our cars was like rocking horse sh** ;D
Tis expensive mind you :-/

Not really... I would be cautious about publishing my number plate due to the risk of cloning ;) It happens a lot :y
Actually B... Are you OK today? You seem to be in a bit of a strange mood :-/ :-/

But popping to the shops I'm not exposing my plate to every person in the country world with an internet connection... That's how most cars get cloned and people start getting tickets from the M7 when they live on the Isle of Wight ;)
Nothing to hide and nothing sinister. In fact, ISTR it's advised somewhere for online advertising :-/

Ahhh... That explains it ;)
Fingers crossed you avoid the root canal :y :y

fair point LazyD, but it seems a bit paranoid to me, nice looking car tho - i know hes not selling the car, but i'd never buy a car thats advertised without the reg no to check it tbh, so the fear of cloning has the effect of limiting the market and as omegas are a relatively small number left on the road i wouldnt be too concerned that its a major target for an attack of the clones ;)
-
Nice Mig. Some folk cover thier plate in photos or ebay ads. to avoid being cloned, best drive around with it covered up then. I think it's being a little precious or over cautious.
Besides the Beastie's not covering her Muff up for anyone! :P

You'd be surprised ;) ;)
Anyway... If you were that serious about the car you'd just ask for the reg to put it through a HPI check ;)

I used to think the same, until one of my Ford Granada's were cloned, you can never be too careful ;)

My car was cloned before I bought it, the clone car was at the other end of the country so don't think they randomly saw the car on the street. Tend to find the people who clone cars are lazy so will just about manage to switch the PC on, too much effort to walk down the street.
I've also heard that auction houses can attract people who need a plate for a similar car - tends to be a little while before the auction car gets paperwork sorted (can sit on a dealers forecourt etc) so more time to use the plates undetected.

.... And now an Admin "over there" i believe?
.... He also beet me to it. Again!

In regards to the cloning, i personally would blank my reg number out if advertised on the net, not so much for cloning but with the fuel prices at the mo and people struggling with the cost of filling up especially in bigger motors like the omega ,you may end up finding out that "you" filled up at tescos last week and drove of without paying ! just a thought, you cant say how desperate people are going to get with these stupid fuel prices :'(.......................
Now then whos got a silver facelift saloon on here?........ any chance of some pics? ;D

aye thats the one hehe :)

Had my front number plate nicked a couple of years back, thought it had fell of so i had another one made. all was o k until the old bill came round about all the fuel i had nicked by pure luck i kept the receipt for the new plate. :-[
