Title: coilovers , any good ???

considering getting a set , just wondered anyone here tried any ? thanks

what type? i know they are expensive! looked into them myself but figured not worth the money lets face it the omega is a bit big to be a sports car

nothing special about coilovers - every Omega has those on the front.

replacing the standard coil-over spring damper with an after-market one will not be great for steering geometry. Best option is Koni adjustable insert with after-market spring.

my steering geometry is not good anyway the car has has a full laser set up and tracking evry other month , still wears the front tyres out at an alarming rate .... even had new lower arms and links to no avail . :'(

Then whoever is setting it up is not doing a good job.

Did they give you a printout showing the before and after settings last time you had it done? Can you post the numbers?

Plenty of info on here re set up. Check the guides and FAQ sections.

But you do need a set up firm that knows how to use it's kit and translate the visible tyre ware. Surely if they are constantly seeing shoulder ware then they need to adjust their base setting? Or are they selling you tyres as well?

Go elsewhere IMO.

I have had three different sets on my skyline and i would say dont bother. British roads are not friendly to cars on coilovers. as already said a good lowering spring and uprated shock would be the best bet. unless you are planning on tracking it.
