Title: wrinkly door card
Post by: unlucky mark mv6 on 29 January 2011, 09:49:04
I have a wrinkly door card on the pass side, the arm rest part.Looks like the sun has probably done it,but does anyone know how to resolve it. :-/

Seen the same in previous 'company' cars where the arm rest got used for exactly that by lots of different folks over a few years almost constant use.

The covering has probably stretched and unlikely that it will recover.

You could try gentle/moderate heat from a hairdryer - not a hot air gun, that will be too harsh - and allow it to cool.  Absolutely no guarantees and entirely at your own risk, you understand!  May be that on cooling, might contract enough to go back taut again.

Good luck.   :y

It did cross my mind to try gentle heat, but then again it was probably the heat that done it when it was left standing while doing the repaint,it was never like it before. :-/
