Title: Remember this Omega?
Post by: VXL V6 on 29 January 2011, 21:53:21
Used to belong to Albatross

Have seen it around here a few times, turns out it's been living quite close.

Now up for sale again.

Hmmm, thought Albatross's had silver interior trim pieces, and a shiny stainless exhaust...?

Also there was a thread about a year ago(?) re an autotrader ad with a very similar car advertised down Essex way iirc. Seem to remember something about a different reg, ie 53 plate being a private plate....windows wheels and colour where the same. But doesn't mean it was the same car of course.

Scruntie posted on the thread, maybe he'll remember....?

Mmm .. I wonder what Cevlar trim is .... ?? and why the Cam belt has a 6 month ego ... one would have thought one's ego was for life ....  :) and I have no idea what 2cm distans fitted to the wheels will do :)   I find it somewhat odd that a 5 seater car only has 3 seat belts :)

I also believe there are several 3.2 Elites around so don't quite get the "very rare model".

Overpriced as well IMHO

just my thoughts ... nowt else .. :)

If is Albatross's old one, he did fit that. I remember him posting about it, he got this stick on stuff, which covered the silver trim on doors ect. It had a carbon look about it. He actually done it very well!

He used to hide the plate so it looked like a 53 reg so pretty sure it is

Here is the previous thread, links don't work as ads removed, but shows the comments at the time.
Iirc it was not in very good condition in the eBay ad shown.

Looks ok in the current pics though.

I should imagine that the problem with it is more to do with a 3.2 lump and the current petrol prices!

And I noticed the Bose shelf takes up a LOT of boot so would be awkwards to shove in an LPG tank

Yeah, but I'm sure a small ironing board on the boot lid will sort the aerodynamics and hence fuel economy. Sawted.  ;D :P

Don't those things add like 30% more bhp?

That's just the CD spec does that, better power to "wait" ratio with all those bose speakers missing.  ::)
