just wondered what can be done to the 2.2 omega (petrol) to get a bit more power out of it? seems so underpowered.
but then i did used to drive a 3.0 powered vectra Gsi :y

Nothing really apart from a good regular service.
......and keeping the sport mode engaged.............. ;D ;D

PX it for a V6 ;D ;D ;D

i got the manual version! i had the choice of a 3.0 auto, wish i went with that one now!

don't expect speed with the 2.2, we also have a 3.0 Elite. I always want to race people in the 3.0, its even funnier with two dogs in the back (its an estate) making mince meat of 'hot' hatches.
But in the 2.2, i know i'll never win, so cruise control stays on, just sit back and relax. 8-)
Breather cleaning helps, main throttle body and breather pipes + fresh oil will keep it sweet.
I just brake later for roundabouts and such, gives me a head start ::)

Hmm worth going back to basics???
such as overbored throttle body(easily done)
reprofiled cams
4 branch exhaust
lighter flywheel?
should be worth a fair increase in torque i would have thought?

have been thinking of lighter flywheel and sport clutch, maybe just send the power the engine has got to wheels better.
can you get a lightened prop shaft for an omega?
but i should probably just swap for a v6 as said above!

Yep.. A case of "I wouldn't start here." in so any ways with that engine. Not really worth bothering when you can, as said, P/X it for a V6.

If I win money, after the mortgage is paid off, a supercharged LS1 is being dropped into my 2.2.
The bodywork would not be changed, nor would the alloys, and the 2.2 16v badge would remain. 8-)

My freind has a 2.2 vectra had it tuned to about 250 bhp are the engins the same
And he did say it cost about £3,000
It would be cheaper to buy a 3.2 then rebage it to a 2.2

No, they are very different :y

It can be done, but finding parts in this country (UK) is worse than trying to find "hen's teeth'.
I did a bit of a search for my 2.2 Omega awhile back and there was very little for the Omega.
Just trying to get a performance 4-branch exhaust manifold is difficult, no where I know of in the UK and even looking on the German ebay someone's is selling a 4-branch performance manifold in stainless, but it works out to around £550 just for that. Add any other parts specific to the Omega 2.2 and you would be better off buying a v6 which would probably be cheaper and that's taking into account it maybe cheaper on the insurance to, as tuning the 2.2 may work out more expensive on that side.
But if you want to go the 2.2 tuning route, go for it. It would be different ;) :y

An Omega owner on hear has put The c20 let in his car. Is this a tuned version of the erlier 2.0,if so dont they put them in the corsa, astra, vectra. if so could the engine's out of these fit a omega.

pretty much the 2.2 from what i understand is a stroked 2.0 so from that it should be a fairly straight forward install lol!! don't quote me on that though it's been a while since i was reading up on it and the fuel prices started to sky rocket!

I believe the c20let is a bit of a pain to fit to an omega because the turbo gets in the way.
A c20xe red top goes straight in because its basicly the same as the x20xev that is already used in the car.
