Title: ford focus clutch problem
Post by: rikki_essex on 15 February 2011, 08:56:31
Morning all my wife has got a ford focus 1.8 petrol estate with 114k on the clock and she said the clutch felt funny so i took it out for a drive and it feel like the bitting point is right at the bottom now and its a bit tricky to put it into gear. The bitting point used to be right at the top but now it just feels loose until you get right to the bottom. Straight away i thought it needed a new clutch but if you put it in 5th and try to pull off it stalls straight away so i guess the clutch is not slipping and ideas?

the focus has a plastic master cylinder which can give this problem, check up behind the clutch pedal for any signs of fluid loss,(the cylinder is inside the car)you may get away with a bleed
