Title: Vectra compression test results -
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 09 July 2007, 11:27:14
I have just been and done a compression test on the Veccy, and I can confirm that TD's garage diagnosed it correctly.

Cylinder 1: 225 PSi
Cylinder 2: 212 PSi
Cylinder 3: 0 PSi
Cylinder 4: 230 PSi

So they're all pretty much acceptable, apart from number three, which has no compression whatsoever.

No3. plug is black and sooty, from unburnt fuel obviously.

Seeing as it's not burning any oil, and there is zero compression at all in that cylinder, can we 100% say it's a valve problem?

If its not been smoking out the back, then yes i would say a burnt out valve(s) I have heard that LPG does do this after quite a long while. HTH.
