Hi Folks,
As the topic says on the tin, I've just got the feelers out if any of our resident Omega Experts/Magicians local to the North-West (Darth, Elite Pete, Andy B (who changed my oil quicker than I've broken wind - cheers again Andy :D), or anyone else I've failed to mention - apologies if I have :-[ - no offence meant, but don't have chance to come on here as often as I'd like due to work commitments :'() - does LPG conversions for members?
I'm still getting a decent average MPG of between 35 - 39mpg (worked out the "old fashioned way" ;D - not by fuel computer, which is non-existent in Police-spec like mine). Don't get me wrong - I'm made up with the consumption as-is, but through work am starting to do more and more miles - if things keep on like they are now, I'm looking at 25k miles per year :(
I have the potential to get LPG quite cheap through a friend of my cousin (sounds better than the old cliche of "friend of a friend"! ;D ), but would need to know roughly how much it would cost to convert in the 1st place to see if it's viable, or just not worth bothering with :-/
I've even thought about selling mine and buying another which has already been LPG'd, but seeing some of the monstrosities and bodged conversions on offer (who the ***k would inject gas straight into the Plenum as oppose to the manifold?! >:( ), I'd sooner keep a known quantity (i.e. my Miggy), and see how much one of the Forum's genius'/experts would charge :y
I can understand if there isn't anyone local (or indeed at all, given the associated legislation :( ) able to take on the task, but thought it best to check anyway :y
The only requirements I'd have are a toroidial tank (however you spell it - "spare wheel well jobbie" in Wigan speyk :D), and bumper-mounted filling fitting.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
As always - cheers folks :y

Wow - with hindsight, got a bit giddy with the "smilies" on that post - lit up my screen more than our Xmas tree did that last post...! Sorry bowt that...

Hi Damon,
If you can do it yourself over a few weekends you could do it for around £700 :y
As for someone else doing it... Not that I know of.

there's a place in chorley who dlk talked to and helped him with mine...but he's an approved fitter so will not be cheap....however if you do 22k miles/35 mpg is 628.5 gallons..with an average of 50p litre cheaper so approx £2.25 a gallon you'll save 1400 a year :y

Cheers Karl - yep, know where you mean matey, shall give him a bell :y
Looking at those figures, it certainly seems to make sense...!

We all (well the V6 owners) reckon on a saving of around 10p per mile on running costs :y

Hmmm, 10p a mile over 25k...
£2500 sounds better than £1400!!! :D ;D

That does depend on usage and driving style though ;) ;)

I've had a couple of tanks of 7ppm cheaper (compared to Elite on petrol).
a) I STILL haven't sorted my BLM issue (maybe this weekend ;D. Maybe not ::))
b) I'm always late it seems ::)
