Following on from the DRL thread, what I find way over the top and dangerously bright is the brake lights on some new model cars, particularly Audi's and Merc's. On several occassions I've been behind them in traffic at night, the intensity of some of these are downright dangerous and makes it very difficult to see pedestrians and other vehicles in their vicinity. >:( Surely there must be some kind of legal limit? :-/

Some are painfully bright for me tbh. Only at night though.
Mate of mine has a pet about people holding the brakes on at stand still. Be it at the lights or on the hard shoulder. No idea why, he's explained it several times but never mentioned the lights being too bright. Which might make "some" sense...?

Sorry, I meant to say only at at night. ::)
I was behind a car at the lights the other night driving home from work and he kept his foot on the brake the whole time rather than using the handbrake. The brake lights were so dazzling I couldn't even recognise the make of car and my field of vision was severely reduced. As said, brake lights of this intensity are bloody dangerous. >:(
