Title: Estate rear wiper

Has anyone modified the wiper to give a faster intermittent wipe, or even a continuous wipe when using the screenwasher?

My one gives a continuous sweep whilst washer engaged.  Just have to time when to switch it off to give a last clearing sweep.   ;D

Ooops, as Geoge Bush may have said, 'I misunderspoke myself':-[, I meant has anyone tried to arrange a continuous wipe without the wash to avoid this?  :y

how long do you look through your rear view mirror that you'd need your rear wiper on continuously? I give my Astra's rear hatch a wipe sometime after I set off ........ and that's it  ;)

Ive always found its 'on' setting to be more than adequate in the heaviest weather I've thrown at it.

Have to agree with you on this one Jimbob,just make sure the nozzle isn't blocked and the blade is in good condition.

Just being fussy I guess, as there is always a residual dribble after using the wash. :y

Ahh yes, I suffer that too, and a quick wipe normally sorts after the wash cycle  :y

Mine is terrible...  Blade is in good condition and the nozzle is clear...  Its just that the blade doesn't actually touches the window that is the problem... lol...

try a gentle bed of the arm / lube of the spring....failing that get a new arm for about £9, should do the job nicely then.

Tried repostitioning the arm and reshaping it a little too...  Almost seems like the pinion is out of shape, so thinking more of a new motor for it....

I think most estates suffer from the 'butterfly effect' on the back wiper  ::)

A new arm, moreso than a blade, makes vast difference.  I picked up a new arm for a quid at a dealer I was delivering a car to last year.  Just after paying for a new one from the dealer at somewhat more.   >:(

Got a spare now though!   ;D

I have just replaced the arm and blade on mine. Made a big difference.

The blade needs to be genuine GM blade. It is very curved and none of the aftermarket blades are.

Most of the cases where the wiped area is not complete it is about the blade being non-genuine.
