Title: reading bmw fault codes for free?

Hi does anyone know if theirs a way to read the fault codes on a 51 reg bmw like the paperclip or pedal test on the omega?

I doubt it... BMW will want their £125 + VAT to do it >:( :D

Unlikely - they like to ensure its dealer only, in order to create the (false) impression of reliability. 2001 petrol could be OBDII - its the cutover year...
