Mate has just bought a Seat Alhambra to use as a cab. He bought it on the understanding that it had a fresh Mot with no advisories, as it would have to have a clean sheet for its council inspection.
Anyway, he picks the car up, takes it to a local garage for its mechanical inspection, which it failed. Needed new centre and rear boxes, both fubarred ie centre pipe loose and rear box covered in gungum. Can the garage be reported to vosa and how?
TIA,
Al. :y

Used to have details on the rear of the MOT certificate. Would also be online now, most likely.

Look up your Regional Office in the 'phone book & tell him to contact them direct. They were quick off the mark in my case & very thorough too! :y

Wasn't aware of that. :-/
But will pretend to be surprised. :o
I tend to buy my cars with a bit of care. If I trust the salesman, AND my gut tells me the car is right then I'll think about buying it. I do tend to be a bit fussy though. If there's anything that doesn't quite add up I'll say so.

Aren't they one of the places that will do credit agreements for people with adverse credit? If so.. that's probably your answer, there ;)

I bought a car from one of their previous incarnations (Carcraft I think :-/) and, apart from the fact it had been poorly repaired (only overspray on the wiring loom) it was quite good... Served me well for about 150k and went on to my mother for another 60kish... Only reason she let it go was because it was starting to cost her money and she was offered a newer estate car very cheap :y
Mind you... I wouldn't buy from them again.... I was young and foolish :-[
