Title: snow experiences..
Post by: cem_devecioglu on 09 March 2011, 12:17:04
disaster.. its beeen 2 days its snowing continous and it nearly reached 50 cm in most places-except main roads- ..

in the morning, cleaned the clit (miggy must rest as its my precious :))  cleaned some part of the street.. after a 40 minutes trip reached the job .. 11 am :o ;D

two thirds of people doesnt bother to come job (or they cant)  ;D

lunch time we went to rescue friends diesel megane ,as he had to leave the car in the middle of nowhere last night..

althought the road was flat -and we cleaned around it- the car couldnt move despite 2nd and 3rd gear trials..

and I must mention it had bridgestone LM30 snow tires :-? >:(

so [smiley=thumbdown.gif] [smiley=thumbdown.gif] [smiley=thumbdown.gif] for bridgestone lm30

as for goodyear ultragrip 7+ my clit made no problem and bring me everywhere faultlessly

except the moment I decided to excavate half a meter snow with clit .. reversed into park area as fast as I could and the car climb up on a snow bed and the tires lost the touch :o :o ;D ;D

I called some people dig under the car and bring the clit down to earth ;D  by that time as the gearbox was pushed my 3-4 gear were not in place.. I hardly used 1st :-?

Interesting cem  :y

Your certainly the person to speak to on winter tyres, quick google found a good price, although no stock  :(

I always found Goodyears excellent, my Goodyear Eagle Ventura still had tread left after 45k, just inside edge had gone  >:(

Think i'll make a note of these tyres, considering a set for the tunnie fleet, if we get another winter like last year, an investment in winter tyres might be needed  :-/

I also used venturas, they were quite grippy..  they can go everywhere in snow although they were summer tires..the only problem was stopping distance (on snow/ice) ..

ultragrip 7+ is really a first class snow tire.. never had a bad surprise with it..  the the other snow tire models of goodyear nowhere near it  (except UG500 which is not in production)
