Just a quick question, as I drove slowly into tescos car park today and turned on a damp piece of tarmac the engine tone changed and the TC light flashed briefly, I think I may have given it slightly to much gas for a fraction of a second, I didnt have the TC switched on but is this how it works ? does it kick in automatically if needed and if it does why have a button to turn it on and off.
-
TC is always enabled UNLESS the light is ON on the dash.
The TC light on the dash is to warn you that TC is disabled (or that you're overcooking it if its flashing ;D)
-
As TheBoy has said and there is a button which looks like this - (TC).
It's located near the bottom right of the stereo.
-
Its on unless you choose to switch it off. ;)
-
Ok so if I press the TC button and the TC light is on that means TC is disabled ? just need to get this straight in my head, thanks for the help guys.

Think of it from a safety point of view...
So, it does not need to warn you when tc is on, as that's safest, and hence flashes when activated by loss of grip, as that's not so safe.
... only when it's off does it need to warn you constantly, as that's not so safe, and better to turn tc back on :)
Perhaps not surprising 4 pot owners are less familiar with it. :P
Btw, tc on black is more progressive than previous car. Prefer it, doesn't kill the drive as much. :-/

We have to find what is different, as some people really struggle with TC. OK, some will never be happy because its not a Senator, but some people do appear to have real issues with it cutting in too hard.
I cannot fault mine, and I really have played silly buggers trying to provoke it, much to my tyre supplier's delight...

Turn it of its more fun in the wet, reminds me of my capri days mmmmmmm ;D ;D

I know the rear pads are different, black appear to be tc, which work well strangely, gay was oe, which worked slightly better.
Tyres are differant, but I had other tyres on gay with no change.
Other than that...? :-/

I use TC pads - I wondered if their ultra soft compound helped with the braking aspect of TC, before the system has to start killing cylinders...

Can also hear the caliper buzzing when tc cuts in, noticed driving in snow a while back. Never noticed same on previous car. :-/
Might just be the pads being a looser fit in the caliper on this car, oe have same pad backing plus a shim extending round the edges..... needs new discs and pads all round soon really.
