Title: 2.6 v6 cdx 2003
Post by: BLACKPOOL on 12 March 2011, 11:29:47
Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me what to look out for when viewing a 2003 2.6 CDX with 31000 miles on the clock?
What are these cars like to own? If anyone can tell me the good and not so good bits about these cars then that would be a great help.

kind Regards

Tony

look for signs of wear that arent consistent with mileage

i know its only 7 years old, but mine is 7 years old and looks good even for 74k, so 31k should be pristine

check all paperwork very thouroughly too

Some 2.6 had problems with cheap valve stem oil seals which will give a puff of blue smoke on the first start from cold.
You can do a pedal trick when you're there, dead easy to do.  :y

I suppose it depends on your mechanical skills & whether changing £30 of seal is worth the effort of changing them. It's a job I'd do, but would never pay someone to do.  :y
