Hi guys i am wanting to fit a towbar to f/l elite estate but after looking at them on towsure's website it says that if you have parking sensors fitted in the rear bumper to check that the towbar will not interfere with them ?? :-? does anybody know how i can check this out or why they would interfere with the towbar ? except maybe that i would get a false reading on the sensors i guess ??? :-? ::) :y

I have rear park sensors and a towbar. Works quite fine, as the bar is in the centre of the two inner sensors. if I get to cvlose, well, thats what towbars are for, are they not?? ;D

I have a F/L with a towbar ... and (before the system started to play up- another story) had no problems with the towbar at all.
I watched the guy fit it, and having asked the question he said he knew it would not be a problem as he had done several .. but would prove it the easy way ...... and simply knelt in the boot and held the towball in the position it would be ... and told me to test it !!! As expected .. no problem at all... :)
Sensors do beep if you reverse with the van attached, but if only for a short distance it is not too bad. If reversing long distances (caravan manouvering competitions) I used to just disconnect the speaker at the plug - The position it is right now until I track down the fault it has !!!
HTH :)

my estate sensors are unaffected by the towbar as well :y

So..... it's easier to kneel in the back of an estate and test the position than it is in a saloon boot ..... same principle applies .. :)

Eh? you have lost me...... :-?
The estate towbars I have seen won't fit onto a saloon.... as they are different or am I wrong?

THe OP's question was if the Towbar would "interfere" with the reverse sensors .... not if the tow bar would fit !!!
When in doubt ... RTFP .... :)

I am in no doubt what he is after, as he asked me if my towbar on a Mini Facelift Estate would fit his car..... :P
