Never a truer statement :y....the more i live with one the less i understand them

I get away with rebuilding her vacuum cleaner, or anything electrical, she also didn't mind the LPG loom spread out in the sitting room along with ECU and evaporator but an engine would be a nono, that said I used to rebuild the Sunbeam head in my rented one room bed sit
-
erm...
i'd be assuming that worse is still to come!!
be prepared!

I did some spray painting at our last house in the downstairs loo.
Ended up scraping off rail blue for days - and guess what I still haven't finished that model (DC Kits Metro Cammel 101 with centre brake second)
-
Mate of mine rebuilt his Norton Commando in the front room years ago his wife used to dry washing on it.
He tells me that women can be tamed with kindness and gifts, and if that fails ...
a whip & chair. ;D

Just to upset some more people - my wife is happier with proper hifi speakers than a little sub sat system

Bottom line is, 'NO!'.
I do remember from my more 'formative' years though, owning a Pontiac TranAm and having nowhere but the living room to store the bonnet during an, (what became a regular occurence!), engine swap.
Whenever we ordered a delivery, most of the time the driver would ask, "Is that the house with the bird in the window?"
8-)
(Seemingly, the dishwasher is the best place to clean engine parts tho'! You did not hear this from me!!)

It is AMAZING what a dishwasher does to a set of faded pre-facelift headlight lenses ;D ;D
Of course, I wouldn't use the works one, and my boss will never read this thread ;D :D
-
i striped the front end of the senator down on the kitchen table lol my mum went ape and b*ll*cked my dad for it lol wasnt his idea it was mine my dad also rebuilt a rover sd1 engine block on that table lol and aparently a 520i beemer head on it :D

Have you tried a dishwasher on a cylinder head? They bring them up a treat! Go on, put her to the real test ;D.
You'll need to let it fill up and then open the door and chuck a bit of Jizer in on top ;)
I remember when I built the Westfield there were bits of car in EVERY room in the house. Couldn't store much in the garage because I needed the room to work on the car.
Oh, yeah. But then I was single then. Happy days. :D

Did an escort cylinder head decoke in my mum's front room once, could n't sit down for a week for 'laughing'. :o
Re- sprayed front wings and bonnet off a Volvo in bathroom, Mrs. DaveL still recounts the story, over and over again. :-[ :-[ :-X

I use the dishwasher all the time for cleaning parts.......even did a Range Rover V8 sump in one once.....that didn't go down well as the crudd off it coated the nesxt wash...
The one that she realy didn't like was me warming a Nova brake servo rubber in the oven for 2 hours which had petrol contamination to sweat it out......

Our kitchen and dining room are the two rooms left to finish and are still like a building site so I would probably get away with it although she is moaning about the Rover front end thats been sitting there for a couple of months ::)
