Billys and irmys fitted all round today. Love it, still needs set up, although got camber and toe fairly close on the front. The ride is firm but compliant with minimal body roll. How did they manage that?
Oh and thanks to Phil for the springs, brand new unused irmscher springs. Felt guilty fitting them, should have put them on the mantel piece. :D
Bilstein B4 shocks, recommended by The Master and Pink among others.

They are a very good setup, not excessively hard yet loads more feedback and better road holding

Binned SL. Did the front first then the rear, which gave the most improvement!

Yep. Steering wheel now central. Steering lock off to the right though :-/
Thats suggests the column is not aligned to the steering box correctly and the wheel has been moved to correct it.

yeah..."We" looked into all that last week with 2woody. The column and knuckle(?) to steering box shaft had all been disturbed by the looks. Chewed torx bolt on on knuckle clamp to steering box shaft and one of the sheer bolts still had the hex attached. It was definitely off centre when it came to me by some way, as the steering lock position was off to the left, it's now off the right, so we may have gone to far, or I haven't got the steering wheel back on accurately to the knuckle position as that part was left to me as it was late and the curry house was open. ::)
I have yet to look underneath and see if the pitman arm is straight ahead ish.... And although there are lots of splines on the steering column, the increments are still too wide to get it cock on, it needed half a spline right, maybe should have gone half a spline left once the column was adjusted to the mark on the box shaft? What a fiddle!
This was all in aid of finding a knock in the steering, we found a loose or worn steering knuckle on the drivers side wishbone. Replaced it, and it's better in that the knock is no longer present over bumps, but there is still a slight tap when turning the steering wheel to the left. :-/
